Most read Danish websites
On the website of Danish Internet Media (FDIM), they keep a weekly Top 80 list of the most visited websites in Denmark. If, for instance, you want to know how many people read the big newspaper websites, it is the place to go. Note, however, that the website which is most read, is Microsofts DK website. [Update: read the first comment to the post to get some relevant information about the background of the figures].
Comments:
Don't forget that this top 80 only accounts for sites, which are actually members of the FDIM and that all the measurements are done using RedSheriff - and that's not a cheap tracking program to implement. This means that if there was a blog out there with a couple of hundred thousand visitors per week in Denmark, we'd never see it on this list.
Also one of the reasons Microsoft places so high is that it's the default 'Homepage' in many casual IE-users' browsers and that a typo in the adressbar redirects to the MSN-search. This was one of the reasons why Jubii decided not to be a member of the FDIM for a while. One cool thing though is that the numbers from site to site are actually comparable, because all members must comply to a set of standards.
Whomever you are - thanks for this useful additional info. It's a thought-provoking reminder that one should always remember to take the context of the estabslishment of the top X list into consideration - and that to get the full picture you need to go to several sources.

It could be really interesting to know how many readers the most popular Danish weblogs have. This could give us a general idea of their "penetration" of Danish culture as such. Are we talking about an exclusive readership , or does the average Fru Hansen read blogs too? |
